Climax and Resolution
Typically, the story builds to a climax as the movie draws to a close when finally, a resolution of the conflict or suspense occurs. The movie's end sets the stage for what might happen to the characters in the future. Usually, due to the events in the film, the characters' lives are changed significantly, and relationships with others are strengthened.
What problem or conflict is resolved at the end of your movie? What actions does the main character take to help save the day and create a happy ending? How does the hero/heroine neutralize the negative influences the villains exert and have "good" triumph" over "bad" in your work? What relationships are improved? What new beginnings might be created as a result? What is the "cliffhanger" a that leaves us in suspense and longing for the sequel?
